Usher ‘She Came To Give It To You’ Review by Georgina Rowe
Usher has always been at the forefront of popular music, releasing many chart topping singles like ‘You Make Me Wanna’, ‘Yeah!’ and ‘OMG’ over the years.
His latest single, ‘She Came To Give It To You’, is sure to follow in its predecessors’ footsteps, having been produced by Pharrell and with a feature verse sung by Nicki Minaj.
The song boasts of how “everybody wanna get next to [Usher]” and uses “if you only knew she came to give it to you” as a pre-hook. It contains the same kind of style that we’ve come to expect from Usher records but with a refreshingly-Pharrell overtone, with boppy backing vocals and riffs. Some of the vocals almost have an early Jackson 5 feel to them, with a few vocal runs.
Overall, we’d say keep an eye on the charts because ‘She Came To Give It To You’ is set to top them!
Usher’s eighth studio album is set for release later this year.
