New Bastille Single: Oblivion by Georgina Rowe

Brit Award winning band Bastille are releasing the final single from bestselling album ‘Bad Blood’ this September.

‘Oblivion’ is a hauntingly harmonic track, with lead singer Dan’s stirring vocals speaking of the pointlessness of our self-indulgent society. Contrasting with the previous louder and rhythmic singles like ‘Pompeii’, ‘Things We Lost in the Fire’ and ‘Bad Blood’, ‘Oblivion’ is a pure and melodic beacon of light on the album.

The music video for the track stars Sophie Turner, who plays Sansa Stark in the hit TV show ‘Game of Thrones’. It is meant to close the story which has been told throughout the band’s music videos for ‘Bad Blood’, and you may recognize the jacket which Sophie wears from their previous videos.

2014 continues to be a landmark year for Bastille, with ‘Pompeii’ being named this year’s most streamed song in the UK and the biggest selling rock song in the US. Their music has been propelled into the limelight, and as their two previous US tours sold out they are heading over the pond again for a winter tour.

The single will be released on September 8th 2014. They will be appearing at the V Festival on August 16th and the Tennents Vital Festival in Belfast on August 21st.
