You Me At Six Debut New Single ‘Room To Breathe’ by Georgina Rowe

A new single, called ‘Room to Breathe’, has been announced by rock band You Me At Six. It was taken from ‘Cavalier Youth’, the band’s forth and most successful album, which debuted at number one in the album charts.

When you look at the lyrics for ‘Room to Breathe’ it could very easily be sung acoustically, with just a singer and a guitar. But what You Me At Six have done with this song transforms it from a mere song into a powerful ballad, full of lyrics which cry out for space in our claustrophobic world.

The song fits in with the album, and yet stands out – it is slightly heavier than the other tracks, and is practically asking to be played in a stadium full of screaming fans. It was produced by Neil Avron (of Fall Out Boy and Linkin Park fame), and you can definitely feel his touch when listening to the single and the album in general.

Although ‘Room To Breathe’ has received mixed reviews from critics, we love it. You Me At Six cannot really reach higher heights than where they already are – leading the charts both in the UK and the US – but we can’t wait to see where they go next.

‘Room To Breathe’ will be released on September 1st 2014 and the video is available online.
