How to Make Money From Home by Georgina Rowe

When you’re a student, making enough money to get by can be difficult. Really, there are many things you can do to make money from home, meaning that having 3 part-time jobs isn’t necessary. Check out our list of the best ways to make money from home to find out how!

Get a Virtual Job

Whilst this may sound strange, there are many job sites which search databases for jobs that can be completed from home. Ranging from one-offs to long-term tasks, you can be hired to transcribe audio recordings, write adverts for companies and more, without leaving the comfort of your living room. This actually pays pretty well, so you can rack up a decent amount of cash in no time. Just make sure that you would be able to complete the task that’s required, so that you don’t waste time trying to learn the discipline.

Sell Your Belongings

In this digital age, it is much easier to find the person who regards your trash to be their treasure (as the saying goes). These days you can sell pretty much anything on the internet – old textbooks, clothes that don’t fit, DVDs you don’t watch – and as long as you set reasonable prices for your items then you’re sure to find a buyer. Even if you don’t make a lot of money, it’s still more than you had before and you have some extra room in your wardrobe!

Sell Your Products

If you are someone who has an obsession with knitting or is amazing at website design, selling your products online may be the best way to make a bit of dough. There are websites where you can join other sellers to advertise your wares, or you could even go out on your own and create your own online store. If you choose this route, remember 3 things: make your site look professional (as first impressions count!), create a strong online presence so customers can reach out (like social media pages) and set yourself a certain amount of time per week to dedicate to the shop and don’t deviate!

Complete surveys

A quick way to make money is to register with a website which allows you to earn through watching adverts, completing surveys and even reviewing products that you own. And don’t get me wrong, the money won’t be much to start with but once you’ve been on the site for a little while you’ll notice that the money is rolling in a bit more quickly. Some websites allow you to get the money sent to you, but some may allow you to redeem vouchers instead. Don’t discount the second option – you may be able to buy toiletries or groceries for the week, we’re sure your flatmates would be happy with that! (Find more details about this method here)

Take Advantage of Your Blog

If you already have a blog or website, don’t waste this opportunity! If you dedicate some time each week to your blog and market it well on social media then you can make quite a bit of money. There are schemes which businesses have set up which allows you to place adverts on your blog and collect money each time one of your readers clicks on it. If your blog has a large enough following then this can translate into a lot of money!
