For those lucky enough to have been to Australia or those in the process of planning a holiday there, you’ll know how amazing the beaches are in that part of the world, and Sydney is no exception. And as much as Bondi Beach is great and worth a visit, there are so many other beaches in Sydney that people tend to forget about. So here are some other seaside suggestions for you…

Bronte Beach
I’ll let you into a little secret. This was the first of the Sydney beaches I ever visited whilst in Australia and it still remains my favourite. It’s clean, it’s nowhere near as busy as Bondi and it’s beautiful. You can choose to spend your days sunbathing, surfing and also swimming in the free Bronte baths. It’s also a great spot for lunch if you are planning on completing the Bondi to Coogee Coastal walk.

Coogee Beach
And if you plan to do the above walk you’ll end at the wonderful Coogee Beach. Known for being great for snorkelers and scuba diving it is a great alternative to Bondi. The surrounding cliff tops give you some excellent views of the ocean and the beach and the grassy park area behind the beach is the perfect place to enjoy a few bevies over a BBQ.

Gordon’s Bay
If you haven’t spent much time exploring Sydney’s Eastern Beaches, then you may have missed the little gem that is Gordon’s Bay. There’s not much beach to inhabit but that doesn’t stop those wanting to spend a sunny day there. It’s completely normal to find beach goers sprawled across the rocks catching rays. And for those wanting a swim you can do that too, but be careful of the rocks, they’re pretty sharp and slippery.

Manly Beach
Just a ferry ride away from Circular Quay and you’ll find yourself at the popular Manly Beach. It’s a great spot for surfing and has a whole host of shops and restaurants in close proximity too. And the view you get of Sydney when travelling to and from Manly Beach is just breathtaking.

Palm Beach
It’s one of Sydney’s Northern Beaches and is truly incredible to visit. It’s about an hour drive from the city, but believe me it is worth it. A long stretch of beautiful white sand greets you, as well as views of the impressive Ku-ring-gai Chase National Park and the sights of seaplanes landing in the water. And once you have finished by the beach, take the Smugglers Track to the top where you will get a great view of Palm Beach and the Barrenjoey Lighthouse. You may even spot a whale or two.

Have you been lucky enough to spend time on any of these beaches? If so let us know! Any other Sydney beach recommendations are welcome too.
