Every New Year’s Eve, resolutions are made by students up and down the country. Those vowing to attend more lectures, to cut down on visits to the student bar and to even learn how to cook. But for those of you who love to travel why not make some travel related resolutions to get you through the year? Here are just a few you should consider making.

Plan A Trip With Friends
This could be a weekend trip to your best friends university or a fortnight abroad to somewhere a little more exotic. Whatever you and your mates decide make it a memorable experience. This resolution will encourage you to keep traveling, whilst also allowing you to spend some quality time with your friends.

Make A Travel Bucket List
Do you want to visit the Coliseum? Sleep under the stars in the Australian outback? Or take a helicopter ride over the Grand Canyon? We’ve all got trips we spend our days dreaming about. And for the New Year make sure none of these go forgotten and make a travel bucket list. You may not be able to tick many things off the list straight away but it will give you something to plan and work towards for the future.

Start A Travel Fund
As we all know living on a student budget can be difficult. And affording trips away can be near impossible and damn right frustrating, especially for those with a severe case of wanderlust. So why not plan to put some money away each month towards that next trip? Yes you may have to give up one night out a week, or you’ll have to curb your shopping habits, but trust me, it’ll be worth it.

Explore The UK
Travelling doesn’t have to mean jetting off to the other side of the world. It could just mean visiting the next town over. So if you don’t have the time or the funds, travelling around the UK can be just an amazing alternative. There are so many great things to see and explore right on your doorstep and 2016 is the year to do it.

Change How You Travel
Past holidays may have included breaks to 5 star resorts or slumming it in some of the worst hostels around. However you’ve chosen to travel in the past, why not mix it up a little in 2016? Travel is about stepping out of your comfort zone. And by changing how you travel, where you stay and even the activities you do, will definitely help push these boundaries. You never know, you may even enjoy this way of travel more than your previous trips. You won’t know until you try it.

Return To A Favourite Place
When travelling, some people only ever visit a destination once. And this is fair. There’s a lot of the world to see. But if you’ve had incredible past experience somewhere, nothing should stop you visiting again. There will always be something new and exciting to see. And to make it even more special bring along someone who has never been to this place before. This way you can share your memories and insights with this person, whilst also learning and experiencing this destination together.

These are just a few of the travel resolutions you could make this year. Let us know how it goes if you choose to take one of these on. And if you have any other great resolutions, travel or otherwise, please do let us know.
