Students all over the world travel to Colorado to enjoy the powder snow, before returning to University.
Two SPG addicts, brothers Miles and Henry Garner, did exactly that and headed to Breckenridge, Colorado and stayed in the The Bivouac, acclaimed as one of the coolest hostels in USA.
The Bivouac really is cool and funky. The toasty warm bunks, the pancake, sausage & maple syrup breakfast, the modern chic furniture and the wonderful open fire make this a fab place to hang out. Not forgetting the outside hot tub and camp fire, neither of which are for the feint hearted with night-time temperatures of -20 degrees. Brrrrrrh…!
The ski slopes are some of the best in the world. Long, wide, open slopes with plenty to chose from, from beginner through to expert. Our two roving reporters are intermediate skiers and endured a few falls and bruises, but nothing too serious.
Breck nightlife is fab. The bars and restaurants just rock with atmosphere and Summit County being a ‘marijuana legal state’ seemed to create a pretty laid back lifestyle.
Highly recommend Breckenridge and the Bivvi. Be interested to hear any other ski experiences.
