For many students the word exercise is not in their vocabulary. If you look up the definition of ‘student’ you are bombarded with facts about how much students drink and how little time the actually spend at university… So now many students are going to the gym in their spare time.

And now is the perfect time for you to join. You have probably already given up on your new years resolutions that you swore to yourself you would do ALL year! Now it’s time to start your ’11 month resolution’ instead, I know doesn’t quite have the same ring to it, but oh well. It’s also the perfect time to start working on your ‘summer bod’!

Many of you may be put of going to the gym at first, the idea of getting out of bed to put yourself in physical pain surprisingly, doesn’t sound appealing, and also horror stories you may of heard. I for one have my fair share. Falling of a tread mill? Who would be stupid enough to do that I hear you say? That would be me. I was having a ‘well deserved’ rest on the treadmill, standing with me feet either side. I decided it was time to take the plunge and carry on, however I missed timed my footing and fell flat on my face, cutting my knees open as the treadmill carried on moving, not quite the elegant transition I had hoped for. However, I tell myself this sort of thing happens to everyone right? *please say yes*

Now you have finished reading my most embarrassing gym story, it’s time for you to get down to your local gym and start burning off all the alcohol from Friday night! Just in time for the following weeks big night out, enjoy a gym-and-tonic (pardon the pun) guilt free before you go out and live up to the student reputation on a Friday night!
