Procrastination is an art form. I mean, we can all procrastinate (we do, don’t we?), but to procrastinate well is in a whole other league.

Have you ever just sat at your desk, stared at something – you don’t remember what it was, but it was something, surely – and then realized it had already been an hour? Two hours? What had you done in that time? No work, for sure, but anything else?

Compare that useless, forgotten time with both doing no schoolwork (oops?) and enjoying it, too.

This, my friends, is where skill overrides habit. Knowing which shows to watch – so that you can waste your time more efficiently – is the first step.

Personally, I’d say procrastination is a skill I’m blessed with having – so let me help. Here are the best shows on TV that will not only override your life, but make it great, too;

1) True Detective, Season One (If you like crime, and who doesn’t why not give creep Matthew McConaughey, Woody Harrelson and Michelle Monaghan freak you out – masterfully?)

2) Peaky Blinders (High budget, super intense, somewhat confronting and set in old-school Birmingham – it’s addicting. Oh, and it stars Cillian Murphy, Tom Hardy and Helen McCrory… wow)

3) Suits (You’ve heard about this for a reason, people. Intelligent, witty, challenging and *somewhat* realistic – it’s time to upgrade your office dramas and law firm banter once and for all)

4) Freaks and Geeks (An old-school show that got cut way too soon displays the realities of American 80’s High school with no other than young James Franco, Seth Rogan and Jason Segel)

5) The Carrie Diaries (If you like Sex & The City, then you’ll like the modern-vintage prequel offered by the gorgeous Anna-Sophia Robb – glitz, glam and gossip, you’ll see just how the stellar Carrie Bradshaw came to be…. and with a little eye-candy as you go)
