Trump’s new import tax from Mexico has sparked an American avocado crisis – You’ve guac to be kidding me!
To help fund the construction of his infamous wall, Trump has proposed a 20% import tax on all Mexican goods. Avocado hipsters across the pond are not happy! Mexico is America’s number one tourist destination and supplies 80% of their avocados.
Guacamole fans are already arranging mass ‘Avocado farming days’ before prices sore.. and there is further worry that tax on fruit and veg will ignite a public health crisis too.
The popular restaurant starter of ‘Avocado toast’ could now cost American’s an eye-watering $39.50
Avocado won’t be the only fruit effected if this policy goes through: other fresh foods America import from mexico include: watermelon, papaya, tomato, mango, asparagus, peppers, onion, pumpkin, banana and strawberries.
Looks like Donald Trump has already taken ‘Fat-Friday’ to the next level!
