Manchester’s ultimate student shopping night returns on Tuesday 26 September from 4pm – 9pm with more than 200 stores across Manchester city centre offering up to 30% off exclusively for students for one night only.

MCR Student Social – organised by Manchester Arndale in collaboration with Manchester’s Business Improvement District, Manchester BID – promises more discounts, more entertainment and more fun than ever before at the popular annual student shopping event.

Dance the night away at a Silent Disco hosted by Capital FM in St Ann’s Square from 4pm-9pm and be in with a chance of winning a whole host of prizes from retailers and restaurants including formal hire and menswear retailer Slaters, Virgin Money Lounge,The Whisky Shop, Barburrito, Byron Burger and Black Dog Ballroom. 

Other entertainment includes MCR Fresher’s Fair, live DJs and games on Market Street, acoustic performances, games and competitions at Manchester Arndale, Lancashire CCC’s Thunder and Lightning Roadshow on New Cathedral Street and The Printworks’ life-sized Hungry Hippo game in Exchange Square.MCR Student Shopping

Bag a beauty bargain at Debenhams, Boots and Superdrug – all with 10% off and 30% off at The Body Shop and stay connected with 20% off airtime plans and 35% off all accessories at O2, 20% off any pay monthly sim plan at EE, 10% off selected mobile contracts at Vodafone and reduced price sim only deals at Three.

Freshers looking to keep on top of their finances should head to HSBC which is offering competitive interest-free overdrafts, student credit cards and £60 Amazon vouchers for those opening new Student Bank Accounts on the night as well as lots of giveaways and the opportunity to take a spin on British Cycling’s virtual reality bikes or Lloyds Bank which is offering £500 interest and fee free overdrafts and free NUS Extra Cards with new student accounts (both open until 7pm).

Selfridges Exchange Square will be hosting an evening of exclusive offers with discounts of up to 20% off selected brands, DJs, entertainment, sweet treats, prizes and activities including complimentary flower crown workshops, arcade games and a Tommy Hilfiger x GiGi dance mat. Harvey Nichols is hosting an exclusive evening of shopping, complimentary drinks, beauty masterclasses and live DJ sets until 8pm, plus an exclusive 10% discount with the Harvey Nichols Rewards App (terms and conditions apply), while at House of Fraser there’s up to 20% off selected lines and in-store activity until 7pm.
