Electric Daisy Carnival Review by Sophie Polak

On Saturday the world famous dance music festival returned to the Milton Keynes Bowl and transformed it into a magical wonderland, also known as the Electric Daisy Carnival. Having been hugely popular in the USA Electric Daisy Carnival has only reached our UK shores for the past two years but we are really pleased it has made an appearance here!

There was a massive line-up of the most amazing and respected DJ’s including Avicii, Steve Aoki, and newcomer Martin Garrix to name a few. This type of music is sure to get the party started, but when you add that to the festivals show stopping production it really creates something else.

Rumour has it one element of the production included the world’s largest 360 degree digital lighting installation and confetti canons containing 440lbs of confetti, clearly no expense had been spared. Electric Daisy CARNIVAL kind of gives it away but there was a real carnival atmosphere with fairground rides, face painters and even a carnival procession from Cirque Bijou.

Although it was slightly disappointing that the festival had been scaled down to one day meaning that veterans like Fatboy Slim & Pendulum would not be making an appearance. Although Calvin Harris was moved to headline Saturday so it wasn’t all doom and gloom for those Sunday ticket holders.

Let’s hope the Electric Daisy Carnival can return again next year with even more amazing performers, light shows and confetti.
