National Tequila Day Recipes by Sophie Polak

Thirsty Thursday is upon us and also it is national tequila day, what a coincidence. In celebration, we have got three really quick and simple cocktails for you all. Put your glasses in the air for some yummy tequila cocktails. Ahhh reebaaa.

1. Beer Margaritas – If you are not a fan of the original margarita here is a little twist for you.

For one serving you’ll need:
1 Can frozen limeade
2 Shots tequila
2 Shots water
2 Shots beer
1/4 lime, cut into wedges

Method: Pour everything, apart from the lime, into a large pitcher, stir well and until the limeade has melted. Add lots of ice and garnish with the lime.

2. Tequila Sunrise– One typical tacky holiday cocktail coming right up.

Abodus - Live until 29th Sep 24

For one serving you’ll need:
1 shot Tequila
3/4 cup of fresh orange juice
Ice Cubes
1 shot Grenadine syrup
Slice of orange & 1 maraschino cherry to garnish.

Method: Shake the tequila and orange juice together. Fill a glass with ice cubes and pour in the orange & tequila mixture. Slowly pour in the grenadine, be patient whilst it settles at the bottom. Garnish with the orange and cherry.

3. Salty Chihuahua– You definitely do not need a Chihuahua (or any furry animal) to make this one.

For one serving you’ll need:
1 shot tequila
2 shots orange flavoured liqueur
1 cup grapefruit juice
Grapefruit slices to garnish

Method: Pour the tequila and liqueur into a glass, top it up with the grapefruit juice and stir. Garnish with the grapefruit.
