New Adult Books are, as the name suggests, books with “new adults” as protagonists, so characters who are 17+. The genre has been becoming increasingly popular, so here’s a quick summary of the very best that the ‘new adult’ category has to offer.

The Accidental Billionaires by Ben Mezrich

This book tells the story of Facebook’s creation, starting at Harvard and ending in Silicon Valley, California, and in its own words is ‘A Tale of Sex, Money, Genius, and Betrayal’. It follows Eduardo Saverin and Mark Zuckerberg as they stumble through University and end up producing Facebook in the process. In 2010 it was adapted into a film called ‘The Social Network’, starring Jesse Eisenberg, Andrew Garfield and Justin Timberlake, winning a golden globe for ‘Best Motion Picture – Drama’ as well as many other awards.

The Magicians by Lev Grossman
