When it comes to seeing in the New Year, plans can vary from person to person. But one thing usually stays the same. The presence of your loved ones. If you have decided that a few drinks down your local just wont cut it this year, then we are here to help. We have compiled a list of some of the best cities that you could spend New Years Eve in from all around the world.

When you think of NYE in America where do you think of first? Times Square in New York of course. As the clock reaches twelve the famous New Years Eve Ball is released you, as well as millions of others can say goodbye to the old year and hello to the new. This may well be the highlight, but you are also treated to star studded performances and fireworks as well as being rained on by confetti and balloons. If you are looking for a spectacular, energetic NYE experience then this is the city for you.

Paris, the city of love and lights. And also a great place to spend New Years Eve. If you want to be in the thick of the celebrations head to the Champs Elysees, where revellers from all over gather to party and celebrate. You may also want to watch the Eiffel Tower light show. Festivities paired with a breathtaking view from an iconic monument like the tower is sure to be an exciting way to see in a new year. If this busy, tourist celebration isn’t your type of thing, you can always reserve a table at a lovely French restaurant, and spend the evening drinking, eating and socialising with your loved ones.

It is also said that Sydney boasts one of the best NYE celebrations of the world. From the spectacular firework display centered around and above the Harbour Bridge, to the views of the Opera house across the water. Kings Cross is full of party goers and for those looking to celebrate in style Oxford Street and Cockle Bay Wharf (Darling Harbour) are great places to go. We all know tickets to Australia are way up there in price, but if you get the opportunity you should take it. You will get to see in the New year before anyone else in the world, surrounded by relaxed down to earth people, with stunning views to your left and right. What’s more you will actually be able to celebrate without donning a scarf, hat and gloves, as December in Sydney equals summer.

Berlin is also said to be a great city to spend your New Years Eve and it is also one of the biggest celebrations from around the world. This open-air party happens between the visually stunning Brandenburg Gate and the Victory Column. There are fireworks when the New Year is announced, as well as DJ’s and bands that wow the revellers throughout the evening with their performances. The streets are lined with vendors where you can experience types of food and drinks on offer.
