Valentine’s Mini Break Destinations by Sage Fitzpatrick

Valentine’s Day is just around the corner. So if you’re thinking of taking a special someone away for a Valentine’s mini break, we have some great ideas for you.

For those couples wanting to do something a little different on this special day, why not head to Finland? You can spend a night or two cuddled up in a thermal glass igloo located very near to the Urho Kekkonen National Park. You may be asking why you should visit here? This particular destination is stunning and you will get to spend a romantic night gazing up at the stars and hopefully catching a glimpse of the wonder that is the Northern Lights.

When people talk Valentines mini breaks, you are more often that not, going to here the words Paris being uttered. And as much as it is an extremely beautiful and romantic city, why not try one of France’s other stunning cities? One of which is Lille. Located in the North of France, Lille is extremely easy to get to from the UK and has a lot to offer young couples. Try visiting Lille’s favourite food market, the Marche de Wazemmes, to savour many of the delicious delicacies on offer. Or take an evening stroll around the city and see the illuminated Chambre de Commerce and Lille’s Town Hall.

Or if you would prefer to stick a little closer to home and explore the UK, you could try renting a cottage for a tranquil countryside getaway. Winster Valley, located in the beautiful Lake District is a great place for couples looking to spend some quality, yet relaxing time together. Why not spend your days exploring the Cumbrian countryside? And if the walking gets too much you and your loved one could try ducking into one of the many lovely pubs and restaurants in the area.
