It’s rare you read a story reported in the news nowadays that makes you want to smile, but this one certainly made us do just that.

On 21st March, a seven-year-old Yorkshire terrier was stolen from his home and abandoned over 100 miles away. Usually, its people that get in touch with the RSPCA for help, but this time, Alfie the dog decided to take matters into his own hands.

He ran into a road and barked at an RSPCA van. The officer pulled over and the terrier quickly jumped into the vehicle. Thanks to Alfie’s quick thinking, he’s now been reunited with his owner, who is of course thrilled to have him back – Now that’s what we call one intelligent pooch!
