Future Talent Awards

So last night, England hero Wayne Rooney finally broke the record for the most goals scored for the national team, which took him to a tally of 50 goals for England over his career so far. Beating Sir Bobby Moore’s 49 goals, Wayne is the first man to pass the record for 45 years, and not only is it his 50th goal for country, but the penalty finish marked his 300th goal as a professional footballer.

If you watched the game last night, you’d have seen Rooney net the spot kick in the top left corner between the posts and after that, he preceded with an emotional celebration. At only 29 years old, Wayne Rooney has a few more solid years under his belt as an England international, so the lad from Merseyside will surely score a load more to mark his own record. But moving aside from someone else beating the tally, let’s check out some of the stars finest finishes from his career so far.

His first goal as an England international at 17 years old…

An absolute belter versus Brazil in 2013…

Abodus - Live until 29th Sep 24

Here’s probably the best volley you’ll ever see…

And to finish it off, an overhead kick against Man City.

So, there you have it. It’s no denying that this lad has some phenomenal football talent and is one of the greatest to grace the hallowed turf of Wembley. With him in our arsenal, as well as a whole host of youngsters, Euro 2016 could possibly be England’s for the taking, so let’s get behind our boys next year! Three lions on the shirt!
