Let’s face it, a good picture is pretty important to most student these days, especially when travelling. And all across the globe there are beautiful, multi-coloured destinations just crying out to be snapped and shared. So here are just a few colourful places to visit around the world, but don’t worry if you’re not planning on travelling just yet, we’ve included a few from England too.

Cinque Terre, Italy

When you think of colourful places around the world, most people’s minds jump straight to Cinque Terre. These rainbow coloured terraced homes are a collection of 5 fishing villages, which cascade beautifully down the dramatic cliffs of the Italian Riviera. This site, as well as being truly stunning, is listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Wroclaw, Poland

Known as the largest city in western Poland, Wroclaw is also a colourful wonder that must be visited. Its pastel colour palette is subtle, but paired with the Gothic architecture in the city it creates a powerful image and one those who visit will not forget in a hurry.

Willemstad, Curacao (Caribbean)

If you’re lucky enough to be planning a trip to the Caribbean, definitely try to include the southern island of Curacao on your list. Its capital city, Willemstad is heavily influenced by its Dutch history and the homes along the harbour are an assortment of impressive colours.

Juzcar, Spain

Surprisingly Juzcar used to be white in colour, but it wasn’t until Smurf movie came to town that it received its blue makeover. After a spike in tourism the townspeople of this Spanish settlement voted to keep it blue. And it really is a striking site to behold.

Notting Hill, London

Made famous by the film of the same name, Notting Hill is London’s very own pocket of sunshine. Be sure to tear yourself away from Portobello Market and spend some time taking in the lovely array of pastel coloured buildings that line the streets of Notting Hill.

Whitby Beach Huts, North Yorkshire

Nestled away in North Yorkshire, the Whitby Beach Huts are a seaside delight and something not to be missed when in the area. These multi coloured beach huts are lined up along Wets Cliff Beaches promenade and makes for the perfect colourful backdrop to a day by the sea.
