Future Talent Awards

If you’re not living in a cave or in the middle of a desert, the chances are you have probably heard today is actually Back to the Future Day. A date in which Marty McFly and Doc choose to fast forward in time too and where they really saw how the future generation lived; but how wrong they were on this 21st October 2015.

Albeit they did predict a few things correctly including the tablet, an alternative to Skype and also a mad love of 3D movies, but a couple of products they did get wrong, and my oh my, do we wish they were readily available. So, seeing as they aren’t officially about yet, we thought we’d conjure up a list of the things we wish were in stores from Back to the Future 2 and here they are…

Instant Pizza…

This invention would be perfect for everyone all over the country, especially students. Just imagine; going down to your local supermarket, picking a few mini packaged pizzas and ding, you have your favourite slice, piping hot and ready in the matter of seconds.

Flying Cars…

Rush hour traffic wouldn’t be a problem if they brought these bad boys to the roads and what’s more, cyclists would be free to roam the tarmac without the angry motorist bearing down their back tyre. Although it has been hinted that a prototype is in play, I don’t think it’s commercially quite ready for the road (or skies).

Hover boards…

Ah, the illusive Hover board. This prop is probably the most sought after invention of our generation and we’ve already seen some imitators step up to the plate in the form of Segways and the wheel boards, but none are quite up to the standard of Marty’s pink beauty. Lexus have even made a great ad involving it; however, we’re yet to see every Tom, Dick and Harry on Facebook pulling stunts on one.

Abodus - Live until 29th Sep 24

Nike Air Mags…

Now, we’re well aware that some prototypes and limited editions have been made over the past few years, but do you ever see this sneaker at your local sports shop? The effort we have to put in to do our laces everyday is just too much, so I reckon it’s about time we saw some of these on the shelf WITH extra lights too.

Self Drying Clothes…

Something that should have been invented years ago, the self drying jacket would be an absolute diamond for us Brits. It rains eighty percent on the year and not only that, I think my own coat is still sobbing wet from this morning’s walk to work, so imagine what it would be like if we had this heavenly product? Blissfully dry but wishful, we think.
