Feeling like a bit of a turkey every Christmas because you despise the traditional festive lunch with all the trimmings? Well sigh no more my hungry, seasonal friends because here at the SPG, we’ve donned our beautiful chef whites and put together a few menus from over the globe, and with that, will leave you salivating for days…

Australia…
Strewth mate, it’s a bonanza of heat outside at over 30 degree’s, so why would the Aussies even think about sinking their teeth in a sweat-busting roast dinner? It’s not uncommon that these guys throw a couple of shrimps on the barbie, crack open a cold beer and live the scorching Christmas dream. Some even say that Santa changes to shorts when he delivers there…

Japan…
Although not celebrating Christmas day, Japan is still partial to a festive pig out, but it comes in the peculiar form of some crispy fried chicken. No it’s not homemade round Nan’s gaff, but simply picked up in a cheeky bargain bucket from their local KFC! One to be tried, but I’m not sure sitting around a box of empty wings with a Christmas cracker and funny hat on works?

Germany…
Sugar and spice and all things nice, Germany has got to be one of the most appealing Chrimbo dinners in my opinion. With lashings of winter laced goodies lined up like ginger bread, marzipan and stolen loaf, they grace the table with a centre piece of a delicious suckling pig. And of course, being German they wash everything down with the finest of European beers and the tangiest red cabbage too.

Mexico…
Tending to fatten themselves up prior to the Christmas day celebrations, Mexico brings family together to indulge on an eve feast with an array of goodies. From fishy stews, to spicy tamales, the Mexicans do know how to throw a banquet together, and what other way could they end it apart from beating up a plump piñata?
