At the ripe old age of 19-years-old, I know for a fact life as a teenager can be a hectic roller coaster full of drama, emotions and melt-downs. However, your teenage years can also be the BEST years of your life. Free from responsibilities, this is your time to live life to the fullest in every way imaginable. There are so many ways to make the most of your glory days, from bungee jumping into the Great Barrier Reef, to crowd surfing at Glastonbury festival. So what are you waiting for? Here are my 21 ways to seize the day where ever you are in the world, and live life to the max (whatever age you are!)

Conquer one of your deadly fears

Whether your fear is spooky clowns in high top tents, or the spectrum of colours in a rainbow, (strange but true) NOW is the time to face your fears. So go kick fear in the great big bum.

Stay up all night

Yes I know, most of you reading this are rolling your eyes at me. University life does consist of all-nighters, whether you’re raving until the early hours, or having a caffeine fueled panic over essays due in the next day. But you cannot deny it, watching the sunrise is always a good feeling.

Road Trip

ROAD TRIP! Going cruising in your car is a great way to experience that new found freedom of life without parental nagging. So grab your friends and motivational music, because a road trip is the way forward.

Try something new

You are never too old or young to try something new!

Thank your family

As you get older, you will realize how much your parents sacrificed for you. So don’t forget to thank your parents for everything they did for you.

Change your hair

Have you been thinking about a new colour or style? If you really want to go crazy, then change it up whilst you’re young and free. Perhaps a ‘Miley Cyrus chop’ is exactly what you need.

Join a club

Has the new ‘Harry Potter Society’ caught your eye? Do you want to join ‘Star War’s’ club? Consider joining a club that gives back to the community or volunteer your time to help others in need.

Shut down social media

No, you don’t have to shut down social media forever. I don’t expect you to live your life as an internet hermit! However, you should turn it off for even a week or a month. A social media break can really open up new opportunities.

Stand up for yourself

Do you get pushed around a lot? Well it’s time to stand up for yourself and take control of your life! No more being told what you’re going to do with your life, no more lending your friends money every weekend, and no more miss nice girl!

Stand up for someone else

So now that you found some courage and a backbone, why not stand up for someone else? Stop sitting on the sidelines, and one day they will learn by your example to stand up for themselves.

Make a spontaneous purchase

I’m not telling you to go crazy and purchase something you can’t afford. However, a feel-good purchase can make you feel accomplished and grown-up. So purchase those gorgeous kitten-heels!

Accomplish one of your big goals

Do you have a long list of unachieved goals and forgotten dreams? Why not get the satisfaction of achieving one of them before you’re twenty-one? If you want something, you just have to believe that you can go after it.

Make new goals

If you’re still trying to figure out what you want to do in life, think of all the things you love to do and write them down. No goal is ever too small to put on your list.

Make friends with someone outside of your circle

Through our different stages of life, we make new friends from different walks of life. So after you graduate from university and start your new career, makes friends with someone you may not have said hello to before.

Get outside more

When I was young, we played outside until the cows came home! Nowadays everyone is too busy on their fancy iPads, laptops or computers to even care about the outside world. So get outside more and enjoy being young while you can.

Develop your own style

Everyone seems to wear vans and a white t-shirt these days, so why not liven up your style with a leather fringed jacket, or a pair of sleek sunglasses?

Go to a massive music festival

See your favourite bands play live; experience the atmosphere, the fashions and the culture of life in a large field with a crowd of people. You’re all there to enjoy the same experience!

Get your adrenaline pumping!

Why not trying skydiving, white water rafting or bungee jumping? Pushing your comfort zone and trying something like this may terrify you, but you’ll feel immensely proud of overcoming your fear.

Embrace yourself

Your teenage years are meant for exploring who you are, what you like, and how you mentally tick. Now it’s time to embrace who you are: be proud of the unique self you have become.

Go on a blind date

The anticipation, the worry, and the unknown outcome- who knows what the results will be? A blind date makes for an amazing story to tell friends, a learning experience and maybe even an epic romance.

Learn to enjoy your own company

Our relationship with ourselves is the most important one of our lives; we won’t spend as much time with anyone else! Learning to enjoy our own company and enjoy being alone is invaluable on so many levels.
