Future Talent Awards

It’s that time of year again, folks. The season where you express your undying love for your soul mate and treat them to all the finer things in life; be it on a student budget or splashing out on the most exquisite of jewels, you stop at no lengths to get your message across. And no, it’s not Pancake Day (although, we do love them and they’re a great way to show affection), I’m talking about cupids own celebration, Valentine’s Day.

With that in mind guys and gals, you’ve got under a month to get something planned and pencil that all important date into the diary, and here at the SPG, we’re always willing to give a helping hand. So, without further or do, here are a few ideas to get your love buds tingling this February 14th.

A Big Night In…
Chances are, your flat/house mates will probably be out for the night on a date and with that, your crib will be left open as a wilderness of freedom for you and your partner, and this is where you take advantage. Lace your dining table with the most seductive of settings, dim the lights, spark up a few candles and sprinkle your room full of love and roses. When your lover arrives, wine and dine them with delicious food and drink (even if it is a kebab from the local takeaway), and then the night is yours. A key next step after dinner would be to ‘Netflix and Chill’ or ‘Amazon Prime and Sexy Time’, but make sure you don’t miss anything out of your favourite show (they’re too good to miss)! And if you haven’t got a stream set up, Durex have collaborated with Now TV so you can win a membership just in time for the big day, so make sure you enter… One of the good things about this date is that it’s 1000 times cheaper than eating at a 5 star restaurant.

Go For A Three-Course Meal…
Now, I know what you’re thinking… ‘You couldn’t be more generic if you tried’, but hear me out! Have you ever been for a three-course meal at multiple different restaurants? Probably not, and the thing with this idea is that everyone’s happy over the course of the foodie love adventure. Perhaps you want a fish starter and you know the perfect seafood joint, but your partner is really into steak and wants a meaty main. Well why not go to both? You can have your starter at ‘Lobsterville’ and then you can skip out of the door for your main down to ‘Meat Head’s Grill’, then after that, you can go wherever you desire for your dessert! Try it and you’ll be surprised how fun it can be.

Cocktail Tasting…
Cocktail bars are popping up left, right and centre nowadays, and more often than not, they’ll have a mega discount on for students or some midweek madness. You’ve probably thought about dropping by for a drink on night out, but why not make a whole evening of it and get plastered with your partner in crime? The worst that can happen is you’re both too drunk to walk and end up in bundles of laughter, so I’d just make sure you had some water and pain killers at the ready for the next day.

Shopping Trip For Two…
You can do this as a couple online or head on into the shops and ultimately, it’s an idea based around spicing up your relationship. Perhaps there is set underwear that you adored your partner in or you fancied getting your lover an exciting treat; there is certainly something about shopping for and with your partner, and surprising each other that uplifts a hidden spark.
