It’s that time of year again! On Sunday the 19th of June it will be Father’s Day. Problem is it’s been nearly two months since the last student loan and money may be a little tight as you’re coming to the end of the uni year. Never fear! Here are a few tips on how to do Father’s Day on a budget.

Pint of Sweets:
Head to your local Ikea or Wilkinson’s (or anywhere that does cheap cutlery) and buy a plain pint glass, and then fill it with a mixture of your Dad’s favourite sweets and treats as a nice and tasty surprise.

Coupon Book:
Create a book of coupons or favours which you can do for your Dad. You can fill it with things such as “One Afternoon of your TV choice” or “One Free Car Clean”. Just some things you know your Dad will appreciate and will enjoy “cashing in with you”.

Batteries:
Dad’s always need batteries for something right?

Dad Day:
Just spend the day doing something he’s interested in. Go to the rugby with him, go fishing with him, watch his favourite film together. It doesn’t have to be anything expensive. The small gestures go a long way.

Cook:
You can always cook a nice meal on Father’s Day. It’s a simple but kind gesture which shows you care.
