University life for me was learning to make decisions on my own. No longer did I have my parents to rely on, I was now my own person. So of course the first year of university was a challenge of choices. Like these…

ALCOHOL OR FOOD

Yes, you’ve realised that you’re down to the last few hundred pounds of your student loan and with only a few weeks left till the end of term, you need to make a decision. Buy alcohol or food? An easy answer for me…ALCOHOL!

MAKE UP OR NO MAKE UP

Whether it’s attending a lecture hungover or deciding on whether you’re in a fit state to remove your makeup, we have to make an important decision. It’s like college, at the beginning you make an effort but by the end of the year, you don’t give a crap whether you look like you’ve just been dragged through a hedge or not.

TO LEARN OR NOT TO LEARN

It’s that lecture you know is going to either be super boring or totally pointless. Should you stay or should you go? To learn and actually get a good degree, or to not learn and just coast through your first year…

TO VOMIT OR NOT TO VOMIT

There’s a thing called tactical chundering. You either get it over with or risk having going home early. What’s it going to be party animal?! You know you want to stay out and possibly pull that hot guy/girl you’ve been pining after for months…

DO YOUR LAUNDRY OR SPEND THE MONEY ON JUNK FOOD

No one wants to pay the extortionate amount a launderette charges to wash your clothes AND dry them. So why not just do one big wash, wear your underwear inside out and spend the spare change on junk food?

COMPLETE YOUR ESSAY WELL IN ADVANCE OR DO IT THE NIGHT BEFORE

It’s a real struggle I know but when you’ve got a full 48 hours to complete an essay, why the hell not just do it the night before. I recommend you everything ready though just to type it up. Also have plenty of energy drinks and snacks!

Exams

If you’re at university at the moment or you’re about to go, then be sure to face these challenging (or not so challenging) choices!
