Barcelona

Barcelona is the beautiful capital of Catalonia and combines a city break with a laid back beach holiday.

The city has a huge range of high street and designer shops, independent restaurants and chains and gorgeous fountains and parks, to enjoy those breaks from shopping. Not only can you shop the day away, due to Barcelona’s prime location, it also has a number of vast sandy beaches to ensure. Head down to Barceloneta, the cities main beach, and check out some of the bars and restaurants that line the beachfront.

To experience a bit of culture in between sipping cocktails and sun worshipping, the Sagrada Familia is one of the biggest pieces of Gaudi artwork and is a must see for any tourist. For a completely contrast, the Gothic Quarter houses amazing historical architecture and lots of hidden alleyways to explore.

Rome

Italy has to be on everyone’s bucket list at some point, especially if you’re a foodie. The delicious dishes are the perfect way to treat yourself and city itself is always buzzing with energy.

When in Rome, it’s a must to visit the many, perfectly preserved, Roman ruins dotted about the city. The ruins themselves have been absorbed by the more modern architecture that has built up over the years and the Colosseum takes pride of place.

The Vatican is a within Vatican City, a city within a city. The Vatican itself is home to some of artist, Da Vinci’s most famous pieces of artwork in the world. The ornate interiors are breathtaking and you can enjoy just following the crowd as you make your way around and ending your tour with The Papal Basilica of St. Peter.

Majorca

To enjoy a traditional beach holiday at an affordable price, Majorca is amazing value for money. The Spanish Balearic island is one of the most popular holiday destinations amongst Brits and offers sandy white beaches, traditional Spanish food and majestic mountain ranges.

The climate on the island is a good mix of not too hot and not too cold, all year round. This means you don’t have to worry about jumping on a plane in the rain and arriving to similar weather, instead, you’ll be greeted with bright sunshine.

Majorca is not only a place for those looking for a chilled beach holiday, but it is also home to some amazing Roman ruins. In Palma and Alcúdia, you can find the best examples of Majorca’s Roman ruins. Spend the day exploring the sites and taking in the stunning landscapes.

No matter where you choose to go to recover from exam stress, make sure you’re taking your time and going at your own pace. It can be easy to rush around and stress out trying to get from the airport to your hotel, or try and see all of the sites at once. Getting car hire with companies such as Autoclick, can give you the freedom to do what you want, when you want. Sit back and relax and enjoy your holiday the way you really want to.
