Its become routine for many of us to wake up early just so we have that extra time to apply a little makeup before we leave the house. As much as most of us want an extra 10 minutes in bed, the thought of having a bare face in public can be quite daunting – we’d all love to find that confidence in ourselves that allows us to leave the house in the mornings without even glancing in a mirror, and I’m going to tell you how we can make that a reality…

Be sure to wash your face twice a day for clear even skin, once in the morning and once at night with a face wash suited to your skin type. It might be tempting, but don’t wash your face more than twice a day as this can cause dryness and irritation.

Get used to applying moisturiser daily after washing your face. If you have oily skin and are prone to spots, go for something light. If you suffer with dry skin try something heavier and nourishing such as shea butter.

When you wear makeup, be sure to remove makeup properly and never sleep with it on as this can clog pores with dirt and oils leading to breakouts.

Try and avoid touching your face throughout the day as this can add oil and bacteria to your skin which can lead to breakouts and an un-even skin tone.

Drink water and get enough sleep everyday; sleep allows your skin to repair and restore itself overnight making it look fresh in the morning, while water hydrates your skin and flushes out the bad toxins. It leaves your skin clear and bright with no pesky under eye bags!

Make sure you exfoliate your skin regular (once a week) to remove dead skins cells and clean out pores leaving your skin fresh, clean, and zit free!

A method often overlooked is using a toner; it restores skin’s natural pH balance giving it a natural glow and evens out skin tone. Try to use an alcohol free toner as they can be drying on your skin.
