Tucked away on the old, cobbled back street that is Pilgrim Street, once you’ve found the Pilgrim you’ll never want to leave. Situated under the watchful eye of the famous Anglican Cathedral, this pub has an atmosphere like no other. As you descend the old stone steps into the main drinking area, you get a sense of tradition amongst the dark wood interior and murals along the walls, a sense of all the revelry that has been – every party, every football match, every gig – this place has seen it all.

The one word which really describes The Pilgrim is character, which it has in abundance. Constantly brimming with students and locals alike, the bar has a decent selection of cheap beers and spirits, as well as carefully chosen real ales by a number of excellent, mainly northern breweries. And then there’s the famous vodka slushies – a must for those summer months sat in the courtyard. There’s always great music coming from the jukebox and a huge projector screen for all those Liverpool and Everton matches (If you ask nicely they might put on other games or sporting events – as long there on Sky Sports or BT)street view

The Pilgrim is located in a residential area, so the bar closes at 11pm, but after you’ve had plenty of bottled lagers for £1.20 you won’t mind the relatively early exit!

There is a second, upstairs bar too – which is free to hire for any event. There are regular comedy nights and gigs held there, and it is often used as rehearsal space for all types of productions. What will you use it for?

This is a place that the people of Liverpool, and the students, old and new always remember. Those lucky enough to live in Liverpool can visit as often as they like, while plenty of those who have moved away come back every now and then to time to remember the good times.
