The Royal Marines Commando Challenge is all about teamwork. Working together to achieve something special. It’s about showing Cheerfulness, Courage and Determination, as well as motivation, consideration and care, achieving that end goal no matter what your ability.
Proudly owned by and raising funds for Devon Air Ambulance and The Royal Marines Charity, the Royal Marines Commando Challenge is proudly supported by Aston Martin Bristol, the home of Aston Martin in the South West.
Taking place across Woodbury Common, near Exmouth, Devon, you will be taking on the real deal endurance course, a course usually only tackled by Royal Marines trainees themselves.
Royal Marines recruit training is one of the longest training programmes of any combat troops, the full phase of this training takes place at the Commando Training Centre in Lympstone Devon. This intense phase of training ends with a series of tests, which are famous the world over and known as The Commando Tests.
The Endurance Course, the first of the tests, takes you across the rough moorland and woodland of Woodbury Common near Lympstone in Devon, which includes tunnels, pipes, wading pools and an underwater culvert.

The Royal Marines Commando Challenge takes place this year on Saturday 13th & Sunday 14th October 2018. In 2019 the dates will be Saturday 12th and Sunday 13th October.

Additionally, new for this year is the event village. The event village, at Bicton Area, will run alongside the Royal Marines Commando Challenge over the weekend of 13/14 of October 2018, bringing with it a raft of new attractions.
With live music, inflatable kids Commando Course, the Royal Marines climbing wall, Devon Air Ambulance (Subject to operational duties), family dog show, donkey rides and much more already confirmed, the new event village has everything to make it the perfect family day out.
