AGLC has plans to extend its activity and starting doing online gambling business. The Agency hopes that this move will be interesting for citizens of Alberta, Canada.

AGLC has already unveiled the Request for Proposals for a provider who will procure online gambling services. According to the proposal, Canadians spend about $350 million on unregulated gambling platforms. In the Request for Proposals, it is said that:

“An online gambling site will help “capture a portion of the annual (spending) by Albertans on gambling internet sites that are not regulated by Canadian authorities.”

“Online gambling isn’t new and many Albertans already play on offshore sites. These sites are unregulated and do not provide any tools for responsible play” observed AGLC spokesperson Angelle Sasseville.

Canadian online casinos are really deserving platforms with different benefits. On the best gaming sites like Great Casino Canada you can enjoy a number of casino games, valuable bonuses and grab a chance to become an instant millionaire. Canadian casinos are mobile friendly and optimized for different devices with excellent resolution and style.

More about the proposal:

Furthermore, Request for Proposals says that online gambling will enable AGLC to generate new sources of income apart from land-based casino options. It states:

“Without an online gambling presence, the AGLC and its products are not relevant to Albertans who are seeking their gaming environment in the channel that best suits their style”.

AGLC spokesman Angelle Sasseville added:

“A provincially regulated online gambling site would allow it to provide a secure service with age-verification procedures while preventing minors from participating.”

Current situation:

At the moment, Alberta is one of the Canadian provinces which doesn’t run online gambling sites. According to Sasseville words, the launch of the new site will take about 18 months starting from January 2019. The final vendor will be selected in the summer of 2019.
