You should be sensible. You should budget. You should save. But where is the fun in that? You have all of this money now, so you’ve got to at least spend some of it on having a good time. You’re young, and these are supposed to be the best days of your life, so don’t let the fear of running out of money stop you from doing what you want to do. Put that student loan to good use and live your best life with one (or a few) of these ideas.

1. Road Trip

Is there a better vibe than being in the car with your best mates, music blasting, heading for a fun few days of exploring and adventuring? Plus, taking a road trip isn’t exactly going to break the bank anyway if everyone chips in for fuel. Plan yourself a route across the country, tick off some bucket list places and escape from studying for a few days. You deserve it.

2. Casinos

Oh, the thrill of the gamble! Getting into casino games even comes with the possibility of making money rather than blowing it, so it’s got to be worth a try, right? What’s even better is that you don’t actually have to go to a casino – simply sign up to play online slots, invite over a few friends and order takeout (and that’s how you’re going to blow your money, right, makes sense).

3. Buy a New Car

You can’t be chugging around in a little banger forever. And what better time to treat yourself to a sweet new ride than the present? You’re going to need something more reliable to take you on all of those road trips anyway. But at least drive it carefully, since you don’t want any extra maintenance costs.

4. Join an Expensive Society

At college, there are so many societies and clubs to chose from. Some you may have never heard of before, others are not quite your style, but there is surely a few in there that you could get excited about. Now you have your student loan, it’s time to start that expensive hobby. Skiing, snowboarding, skydiving, whatever takes your fancy, give it a go!

5. Take an Exotic Vacation for a Good Time

It’s hard work being a student. After a while, your brain just kind of gives up, and you need a vacation. Of course, it has to be somewhere hot. And far, far away. It is possible to vacation on a budget, and that probably would be sensible, but it’s completely up to you.

6. Re-vamp Your Wardrobe

You don’t want to be one of those students that spends their entire college life in joggers and baggy t-shirts. You want heads to turn as you walk into the room. There are so many events and socials to attend, and you need to look the part. But the clothes you have just don’t quite make the cut anymore. It’s time for a shopping trip!

Your parents may be mad at you, but even they won’t be able to deny that you had a good time, which is what matters.
