Leeds-based Hatch launches new work placement programme for passionate individuals to get first-hand industry experience
Leeds-headquartered Hatch, the PR, social and activation agency, has launched a new placement programme, fondly named ‘Fledglings’, to elevate its work experience offering.
The new programme will see work experience students and interns gain a first-hand understanding of the agency and industry itself, allowing them to work across different disciplines, learning skills such as traditional and digital PR, social media, content creation, strategy and activation planning within the business to gain a well-rounded understanding of the full agency portfolio. Skill set criteria has been implemented across the business to ensure placements meet the needs of both the student and the agency.
As part of this, January will see the team recruiting a new paid intern for a six-to twelve-month placement, during which they will rotate around different specialisms. The opportunity will be open for applicants from early December, and what’s more, there is no minimum requirement for applying – Hatch will be looking for a passionate individual who can bring their creativity to the role.
Helen Simpson, Associate Director at Hatch, said: “This new programme endeavours to bring diversity of thought, ensuring that individuals from all backgrounds and life stages can develop their careers within the industry.
“We’ve been providing work experience for over a decade and investing in developing the skills of future talent is really important to us. Fledglings was inspired by our commitment to ensuring we’re delivering the most positive and valuable experience of working within our industry and the disciplines we specialise in, as well as investing in our reputation and position as a leading placement provider.”
Jason Madeley, Managing Director at Hatch, also commented: “In recent years, Hatch has developed and grown exponentially, and our placement programme was no longer reflective of the business we’d become. The Fledglings programme is an all-encompassing approach to work experience that is befitting of the buzzing creative scene here in Leeds.
“Hatch is committed to creating opportunities for talented individuals, regardless of their background or qualifications. We will be recruiting based on passion for the industry, as well as creativity, ambition and drive.”
