The Best Story Mode Games In 2023

You may have already heard of some of these games since they are quite popular, but if somehow you haven’t, here is the list:

  • God of War (2018)
  • God Of War: Ragnarok
  • Marvel’s Spiderman Remastered
  • Spiderman Miles Morales
  • Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy

God Of War (2018)

Fans of the God of War series may already know this game and might have played it as well. But if you are new to the God of War Saga, then you are in for a good time. The story of God Of War (2018) follows Kratos, who used to be a god-killer but is now trying to leave that life behind to live with his son Atreus. These father and son have a difficult relationship as they have never spent time with each other before.

The story starts with the death of Kratos’ wife, who wished for her ashes to be scattered in the highest peak in all the realms. Together, Kratos and Atreus embark on a journey where they encounter many creatures and allies. They also learn to connect with each other throughout the story!

It is an amazing story and a completely different game from the previous God Of War games.

God Of War: Ragnarok

As a bonus, once you are done with this game, you can also play the next part, released in 2022, called God Of War: Ragnarok. This game continues the story of God Of War 2018, so spoilers ahead!

Fimbulwinter has arrived as we continue to head closer and closer to Ragnarok. Kratos wants to sit patiently and not take any part in Ragnarok, but Atreus wants to explore and find answers. He wants to know who he is and what his role as Loki is supposed to be.

This is a great game with a much bigger story which is full of characters. If you liked the previous God Of War, then it is a no-brainer that you would want to play this game!

Marvel’s Spiderman Remastered

If you like the web-swinging friendly neighbourhood Spiderman and good action games, we suggest you look at Marvel’s Spiderman. The story follows Peter Parker, who has been saving New York from crime for the last eight years, as he slowly discovers some major threats to his city. In the beginning, we see Peter fight and put away Kingpin, but as soon as he takes a moment of relief, it quickly becomes clear that Kingpin was only the beginning.

The game has some amazing mechanics, including high-speed web-swinging, fighting, etc. Throughout the game, you play as other characters, i.e. Gwen Stacy and Miles Morales, and explore Peter’s life as he deals with all the problems that he is presented with.

Spiderman: Miles Morales

Spiderman Miles Morales is a relatively small game that follows the events of the previous Spiderman, but this time you play as Miles Morales (obviously).

Peter has been training Miles to use his newfound powers to become Spiderman, and now he thinks that Miles is ready to protect the city on his own. (Bonus: If you play The Silver Lining DLC in Spiderman Remastered, you can see Peter training Miles how to web swing).

Peter goes out of town as Miles discovers a new company that is secretly developing a harmful energy source and tries to take it down. Play this game to explore the same swinging and fighting mechanics from the previous game!

Marvel’s Guardians Of The Galaxy

Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy is a game that is based on the Marvel comics superhero team which you might have already heard about. It was developed by Telltale Games and was released in April 2017 for multiple platforms, including PC, Xbox One, and the PlayStation 4.

The game is a point-and-click adventure game with a strong emphasis on story and character development. Players take on the role of Star-Lord and control the other members of the Guardians of the Galaxy team, including Gamora, Drax, Rocket Raccoon, and Groot, as they work together to save the galaxy from various threats.

Guardians of the Galaxy is set in the same continuity as the comics and features a mix of puzzle-solving, exploration, and action elements.
