Future Talent Awards

Fresher’s week is an exhilarating time for students, filled with new experiences, friendships, and exciting events. It’s a time to make new friends, explore new experiences, and embrace your newfound independence. But during all the fun and excitement, it’s essential to prioritise your health and well-being. At Essex Sexual Health Service, we’ve got you covered.

Your Sexual Health Matters

We’re thrilled to let you know that we’re still offering the free eC-Card app to help you make responsible choices when it comes to your sexual health.

The eC-Card app ensures that you have access to condoms, no matter where you are on campus or at Freshers’ events. Using condoms is one of the most effective ways to protect yourself against sexually transmitted infections (STIs) and unplanned pregnancies.

If things don’t go as planned during Freshers’ week or anytime during your academic year, emergency contraception is available to you as well. It’s readily available from our service and pharmacies, ensuring that you have a safety net when you need it most.

Promoting Safety: Vending Machine at the University of Essex

Using the eC-Card app, young people have been able to use the vending machine, located at University of Essex, Colchester, which offers free condoms and lube packets.
